Szelyn brings a rare combination of architectural and engineering expertise to studio MGL, with architecture and engineering degrees. This multidisciplinary foundation informs every phase of her practice, from early concept through construction. A licensed architect and a prior structural engineer, she spent over a decade delivering residential, mixed-use, and institutional projects across Seattle at Bushnaq Studio and Swenson Say Faget Engineering. She has worked in China and in India; this global fluency brings both rigor and perspective to complex building programs with cultural appreciation.

Known for her particular strength integrating architecture with interior design, Szelyn translates big ideas into coordinated, buildable solutions with creativity and precision. She carries that same spirit of craft and community into her work as a skilled potter.
